Welcome to the initial consultation phase of your Alteration/Renovation process! This is the first step in bringing your vision to life, and it’s crucial for setting the foundation of the project.
Phase 1

We'll begin by discussing your ideas, goals, and expectations for the project. Whether you’re designing a new structure or renovating an existing one, understanding your vision ensures we align the project with your needs and desires.
Assess Site & Project Requirements
We’ll examine the site of the alteration/renovation, including access points, site conditions, and any environmental factors that could impact the construction process.
Budget and Timeline Discussion
Together, we’ll establish a preliminary budget and timeline for the project. We’ll go over your financial expectations and discuss any flexibility that may be required, ensuring that the project is completed within a feasible scope.
Preliminary Design & Conceptual Ideas
This is the stage where we can sketch out initial concepts or preliminary designs. We’ll discuss the general layout, aesthetics, and style that you envision for the project. We can then also establish the types of appliances and fixtures required.
Next Steps
After gathering all the necessary information, we will outline the next steps in the process, including obtaining permits (if required), formalising designs and specifications, pricing, and preparing for construction.
This consultation is key to ensuring the project is off to a strong start, aligning your ideas with practical solutions. We’ll make sure to address any concerns, answer questions, and clarify details throughout the process.
Phase 2 - Planning & Pricing
Not all alterations and renovations require plans to be drawn and consented. For a minor cosmetic renovation, it is most likely achievable without consent. However, for larger projects where you are removing structural elements, waterproofing bathrooms, or changing the exterior envelope of the building, this work may require consent. We will advise you on this in the initial consultation.
Pricing:
Once we have determined the scope of work, specifications, and level of finish required, we can then provide a full price breakdown of your project. This will be followed up by a meeting via call or site visit to ensure we have covered all aspects of your project and to answer any questions you may have regarding the estimate.
Once the estimate is accepted for work valued over $30,000, a contract will be presented to you to sign before we schedule the job and begin construction on your project.
We provide a full project management service on all our projects, ensuring the smoothest process possible and minimising delays. You will have direct contact with your project manager throughout the entire process.
